What are your favorite snacks to keep in the car? I'm looking for snacks I can put in the car and forget about until I need them. Any recommendations?

I keep a Ziploc bag of trail mix in my car. Pick up some jerky if I have to stop at a gas station or something.

For the car? Things that don't smell or crumble. Jerky might be pretty "fragrant" depending on the type you get. Don't want to open your car to the smell of meat do you? Rice cakes will be a bit dusty and granola bars might crumble. I vote for "chewy" soft bars, fruit leathers, snack servings of things you can just pop in your mouth.

Thanks for the great ideas everyone. I should have said that I am looking for things that wont crumble, melt, go bad, get on my clothes, or leave my hands dirty. I know this is asking a lot. Fruit leather and jerky are good ideas. Any others?

The only snack I keep in my car is gum or mints. Otherwise I tend to munch too much during my excruciating commute through Baton Rouge traffic.
