Hi, my names Amanda.
About 6 months ago I left a job where I was walking constantly for 7 hours of my day, doing 20,000+ steps and had to leave because of health issues.
Now I'm working in an office, I've gained like 2 stone and it's harder to keep weight odd. When I leave work I just want to go home, shower, have dinner and relax.
I have realised that I need to do somethint about the weight I have gained. Especially for summer!
Any friends who can help motivate and who are maybe trying to lose weight too feel free to add me

Hi Amanda... I'm Karee, Is a stone the same as a pound? I've never heard of that verbiage before?0

1 stone = 14 lbs
Make some changes to quantity you eat, logging food as accurately as possible is key imo and move more and you'll lose slowly but surely.
I have a desk job but I workout an hour before work (run/lift) and walk after dinner. I would encourage you to be as active as possible outside of work, it'll help create the calorie deficit you need to lose..
I won't send you a FR as I'm a bad MFP friend and not supportive (been there done that) but there will be plenty who will be happy to support you
Wishing you all the best.1 -
I feel your pain. When I was younger I worked at my local zoo where I walked all day, up and down hills carrying large loads, then I went to retail in a store doing the same and about 9 years ago I went to a desk/office job that I love till this day BUT I gained far to much weight that I care to admit. I think it's great your trying to do something about it now, I wish I had done something sooner rather than later.1

1) If you don't eat clean food during the day,you might wanna start to and portion control is a KEY;2) Stop drinking sugary liquids; 3) Use stairs wherever possible; 4)Don't eat dinner or eat just some vegie/fruit and try to not eat 3-4 hrs before going to sleep (helps me lose 2 pounds overnight).
Mentioned above is whats worked for me. I lost like 12 pounds in about 2 and half months.Good Luck on your weight loss path!1 -
P.S. I am stay at home mom.So, I personally only have chance to workout when I go outside by walk for 30-60 minutes pushing stroller with my baby.0

@BlessedMama12 'don't eat dinner' is not good advice. That's the meal we're inclined to get most of our nutrients /macros in.
Stay within your set calories (according to how you set up mfp on how much you wanted to lose each week) it does not matter when you eat them, you will lose.
The point is we want to lose weight but it's not a sprint to the finish line it's a marathon.
OP has 28lbs to lose, 1lb per week would be great progress.

Thank you all for your lovely advice!
It's nice having this app - people who know how I feel and what I'm on about other than people just saying "it's easy"
I'm trying to eat clean foods now - bananas, chicken, rice, vegetables. I've planned to go to the gym 5 days a week and I have a workout DVD so hopefully I will see some changes in the next few weeks1
