Electrolytes.. is it important to replenish after working out.. how ?

I burn about 600 calories per day and I sweat a lot. My energy is pretty low and I've noticed after eating something salty my energy seems to be better.
Do you all replenish your electrolytes after working out? If so what's the best way to do that? Don't really want to drink sugary/colored sports drinks.

    I make myself a smoothie.

Banana, kale, apple, celery have me covered on the electrolytes.

No. If I get a 4-6 mile run in, I don't think that justifies Gatorade or anything else other than water.

Yea I didn't expect that I would need electrolyte replacement but have been having fatigue and low blood pressure. Dr also suggested that this might be the issue when exercising.

I only take electrolytes when I'm catching baseball in the hot summer. I've noticed it helps with my energy and also seems to help with me focusing.

What do you eat before a workout and how far in advance? I find that has a greater impact on my energy levels during and after a workout.

you can make your own natural sports drink, by adding lemon, a small spoon of honey, and a small pinch of salt to a large glass of water.

There are calorie free electrolyte replacements. I keep the powder form of this on hand:

It doesn't taste pretty but it does the job.

Any runs over 13mi, I run with gatorade. 20mi+ I'll take salt/electrolyte tabs (pills) with me. Post run, I usually smash 24-48oz of gatorade, water.

I use Nuun tabs. They're about 5 calorie per. No corn syrup.

On hot days when I sweat a lot after a long ride or run, I'll drink a glass of water with a Nuun. On really hot days or long rides I'll bring a water bottle with the stuff. If I'm craving it I'll have one or more, if I'm not, I won't.

I powerlift, and always after chest day I cramp so bad I literally can't take my right arm and put it across my chest or I lockup. Usually my chest looks deformed because all the muscles lockup every couple of minutes and lasts for hours. What stopped it for good was Pedialyte.
