I was running through my boyfriends neighborhood today and Actually had people driving by honk the horn and give a thumbs up lol. I don't know if they were serious or just messing with me, but I took it was a positive thing! I didn't want to let my random supporters down so i kept on trekking.

Anyone else get random people giving support? I also think its funny how I use to be one of those people in my car looking at people running thinking "i wish i could do that" and now I have hoards of people at stop lights staring at me...could they be thinking the same thing? Maybe. I'd like to think so anyway lo.

I had a random lady ask my how far I was walking/jogging. When I said 2 miles, she was all giddy and said "good for you, keep going, I need to start walking" She was yelling at me from a bridge above the track I was walking on. I had to stop and take out my ear buds so I could here what she was saying. It was kind of weird, but strangly uplifting as well. It also helped that I was keeping pace with the 20 somthing girls who were walking up ahead of me.

I was running in the rain, a man stopped, rolled down his window yelled something and gave me a thumbs up, now I don't know if he was like ......rock on fat girl running......or rock on girl running in the rain with a white t-shirt on, either way I was totally good with it!

Several months ago, I have agreed to run a relay race with a friend. My "leg" was 5 miles...Never jogged for more than 3 miles so I began to train for it.

I was at the gym and decided to see how long it would take me to do 5 miles... My "comfy" pace at the time was a 12 minute mile (now I'm a tad over the 11 minute mile mark) and I was bound and determined to complete 5 miles BEFORE the readout reached 60 minutes.

I noticed a lady on the elliptical just flat out staring at me for the longest time. It made me very uncomfortable. She would just watch me from time to time and I did my best to ignore her and just keep listening to my iPod or by keeping my eyes on the TV.

I finished in just under 58 minutes and when I went to the locker room, my gawker was in there too. She came up to me and admitted she was watching me on the treadmill. She asked me how many miles and I did and how long I ran for. I told her and she said, "Wow! That's MY goal! I would love to be able to run 5 miles. You are such an inspiration and it was so motivating to watch you!"

I was floored! It was flattering (even though it made me uneasy) and I just told her to keep trying to reach her goal and she'll get there.

I had a CB on base come up to me and ask how much weight I'd lost since I got here (3 weeks ago)I told him around 8 lbs, He was like 'That's all? It looks like so much more. Keep it up.' It felt good to know that even though I still need to lose more people still notice changes, and it certainly wanted me to keep up the workouts.

Truth speaks! Running is as much mental as physical, I'm finding out...I LOVE IT! I also refer to it as my mental enema!
