I was on a medically supervised liquid diet for a few weeks. I would not do it just for kicks. Near the end I could have gnawed off my arm.

I was, too. That's why I've not been terribly worried about her staying on it very long---it's not very pleasant.
However, I was on non-solid food for over a month and that wasn't bad.
In December and January I was NPO for 11 days. THAT SUCKED lol

I'm on my second day of replacing ALL solid meals for my shakes and fruit/veggie juice. However, my snacks Are solids. And I'm feeling pretty damn good! Yessss!!! I only plan on doing this til Saturday morning then I'll alternate a solid meal in the day again. I am no professional but just a believer in Allowing my body the rest it should have from processing my intake. I'm feeling good and excited for results. I don't believe I'll gain any lost weight back once I start having solid meals again because the meals will be gradually brought back into my diet and healthy! Nonetheless I'll continue to workout. I'm so excited!!!! AND I like to try different things so I don't get bored in my weight loss journey :-)
    What's your experience?

    lol

Why? You don't need a rest from chewing. Otherwise, it's the same, isn't it? Or are you vastly reducing your calories?

I advise trying different things. If you're fired up about giving your solid-free diet a go, then try it out.
Take note of how your body responds, especially how you feel. If you start feeling like crud it might be time to adjust. You'll probably have a good idea what's what by Sunday.

I'm on my second day and feeling good and only plan on doing it til Friday. I'm still getting the nutrients needed, HOWEVER, If I begin feeling anything other than good then I will most definitely switch it up. I'm not trying to harm myself.
  • That's good.
It's ok to experiment. Just pay attention to your body.

I guess if your jaw needs a break from chewing, a shake diet is the way to go? Not sure how you believe your body is getting a break though...

    This was actually funny. Lol
But trying things out that are not harmful is quite alright in my book

    No doubt about that! Lol
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I ain't trippin off of anybody's comment. Some have actually been informative, info that I've taken into consideration and may apply to my journey.
Bottom line though, ain't nobody doing this for me but me. It's completely my choice how I do things and whether it works for me or not will be MY lesson learned.

I'm pretty sure there's juicing groups here where you'll get loads of ideas and support. Do a search and see if there's any you're interested in :)

This is not true. It's just pointing out that this type of fad diet is not sustainable long term. You've been on MFP long enough to know that there are alot of lurkers out there. The OP is determined and will do what she will do. As my Italian husband says "There are people who will listen to good advice and take it, then there are others that have to fall on their face first." However if you don't want to spin your wheels, there are better ways to lose weight.
