Im in my mid-fifties and need to lose at least 10 pounds or undergo hernia surgery. Is there a quick calorie guide for something like a roast beef sandwich with a couple of pieces of cheese? I've never really dieted before so I'm a bit clueless.

It might be easiest to just spend a week or two eating as you usually do, but logging everything. That will give you an awareness of where you are today in terms of calorie consumption. I find the mobile app easier to use when trying to log, but that may just be me.
