So my tdee is about 2,500. Should I be eating 500 calories less than that to lose fat? I'm trying to lose fat and gain muscle and I lift heavy 4 to 5 days a week. For awhile I was eating around 1,500 calories while lifting and it took me awhile to realize how bad and stupid that was. So what would you guys recommend?

You will lose weight at a deficit, building muscle that's another story.0

You cannot build muscle while at a caloric deficit sorry but that's the truth if you lower your caloric needs then yes you will lose fat with proper training included as well1
