Wii Fit Question

Hey, is anyone using Wii Fit in their daily exercise? I am and I love it but lately my ankles and feet have been really sore afterward. I'm curious if anyone else is having this problem. Do you wear shoes when you do the workout. I don't -- althought now that I think about it, I don't know why ... does it say in the owners manual not to wear shoes? (I don't have my owners manual anymore because why would I keep that?) I started to do the running segments with my running shoes on and it doesn't seem to make any difference. I'm just curious if it's just me ... or if others have that problem.

I have to wear my running shoes for the running segment but i usually just wear my sock. I'm not sure if it says no shoes allowed. If no one else comments otherwise I will look it up tomorrow and post the answer.0

i dont seem to have any problem with it and i lost most of my weight with the wii. i dont wear my shoes because i am nervous it will scuff the board, as if if u r not suppose to im not sure. the only problem i have sometimes is if i wear socks. if i am doing a exercise where i am suppose to step off and on the side of the board, i slide sometimes lol. other then that i love my wii it has keep me going. i am addicted to just dance 2 right now.0

I do the Wii Fit every other day or so and love it! I don't have foot or ankle problems but it does say not to wear shoes with the Wii Balance board. Are you running on your Wii board? Because you're not supposed to jump or run on the board, you do that on the floor. When I jog in place I hold the remote in my hand and jog around my living room.0

I'm running on the floor, but it's a wood floor ... I wonder if that has anything to do with it. (There's no carpet in our house). I do the island cycling on the board, barefoot.
Maybe I should get a mat and run on that instead.0 -
Yes I have just started using Wii Fit. I bought it a year ago and it sat in the corner.
I synched it up yesterday and loved my first workout. It is an excellent way to introduce yourself to exercise again and it is less boring than a walk around the block.0 -
I had exactly the same problem.. so I bought a cheap yoga mat and step from the board onto that and it has made a huge difference to my knees and ankles. I use a couple of huge books to anchor each side so it doesn't slip and its great I also use it for other exercise dvds too.
Does anyone have any suggestions for new games as I would like a little variety in my day ...lol

As far as new games I really like Just Dance 2! I can sweat it out for 30 mins or so and burn some pretty good calories, I also like the Wii Resort where you can do some sword fighting which works the upper body and back muscles.
I have carpet so that could be why I'm not having any ankle problems but I do have a Yoga mat that I use with it as well. Makes it nice when doing the Yoga exercises and strength training.0 -
I use my Wii fit but i do small sets of different games so i dont stress any part of my body too much. I think we can get into bad habits with machines at home x0

Okay, so yeah, it sounds like I need a mat -- good, I'm glad that someone else had the problem and found a solution -- not that I want anything bad to happen to anyone. (LOL)
Do you have the original Wii Fit disk? I bought the Fit plus disk in January and I love it. There's more games ...er exercises and you can customized it, so you have your own routine ... plus it has a mini circuit training option in the My Routines section. You can combine the segments and have a 16-20 minute workout of different exercises that run straight through .. no stopping to tell you how well you did or didn't do. So if you have the Plus disk ... look under the My Routines option.
I also heard from a co-worker that the Biggest Loser Wii disk is HARD.... she watches that show and I guess on one of the episodes, they made the contestants do it. She said they were all struggling -- even after doing the loser workouts for weeks. I tried the EA fitness disk thingy ... but I didn't like it.0 -

I bought a yoga mat and use that for my Wii exercises. It helps some with the impact and, if you wear socks, you're not sliding all over the floor.0
