I need to get back on track having fallen off the wagon big time over the last 3 months. I'm finding it really hard to get motivated, so I thought I would start a challenge as its the midsummer solstice (at least here in the UK
) today- a time for changes.
My emphasis is going to be on baby steps, giving myself a maximum of 3 goals a week and then practice practice practice until they get to be habits. I'll be weighing in once a week on a Tuesday. Please feel free to join in...the more the merrier :flowerforyou:
So: baseline weight 218.5lbs (21 Jun)
Goals for this week:
1) Log my food (ALL of it, even the bits I don't want to remember....)
2) Drink water instead of alcohol
3) Dig out my zumba DVD ready to have a go next week
Here we go....wagons roll :drinker: (water, of course...)

Welcome back :drinker: and I for one know exactly what you mean.
I lose my way every so often and the weight doesn't come off and worse, it goes back on. Suffering from depression intermittantly, doesn't help matters but doesn't excuse me when I deliberately overeat.
For me, my goals at the moment are to at least log into MFP everyday, log all my food and to hit the complete diary button everyday - I'd turned off the notifications.
:flowerforyou: wagons rollin, rollin, rollin!!!0 -
Hey Nice to see you back Ros!
I'm up for this too but need to give this some thought - back later!0 -
Happy Solstice!
Thanks for setting this up Rosy. I'd like to take on this challenge as well! I was doing great, logging in every day and tracking. Then I went on vacation, changed jobs, got sick and gave up. I've gained back my 6 pounds I had lost. I 'm so very mad at myself, but looking to get motivated to get back on track!
SO...my goals:
1. Log-in daily and track everything - even if it looks absolutely UGLY.
2. A least 60 minutes of activity, 3 days per week.
3. Stay within my daily calories consistently
As I can't bear to write out my weight, I'm going with pounds to lose!
Starting pounds to lose, 6/21/2011 - 65
Thanks!

Right so haven given this some thought my three mini goals are;
1) keep alcohol intake below 6 units per week
2) move (either on foot or by bike) at least one mile EVERY day
3) use the stairs not the lift
By the time the Mid-Winter arrives - I'm going to be 21lbs lighter than I am now. I will then have lost 40lbs and will be in a great position to celebrate Christmas.
Good luck to all on your journeys.0 -
Thought i'd check in today to see how I'm going against my mini goals. So far so good. I'm at 3 units of alcohol for the week. I haven't used the lift at work and I have moved at least 1 mile per day0

 Hiya Kendra, Fatlass and J!
Good stuff, Fatlass- you're doing it :drinker:
My week has been mixed- end result no change in weight.
The alcohol thing bit the dust on Thursday as I went to see the Glee Live show in Manchester and my friend was driving...even though I volunteered. Struggled to get back on the alcohol-free wagon after that.
On the plus side, I have logged my food every day for the first time in months (albeit more retrospectively than I'd like, somethimes)
And I not only dug the Zumba DVD out, I actually went to a Zumba class for the first time today....to discover it's the last one at this time as my gym is closing for a re-fit. Grrrrrr. What are the chances? There were only 5 of us there- I gather loads of regulars hadn't bothered- and to be honest it was a bit flat, so I'll have to have a hunt for another. Still, at least I did it.
So, remembering baby steps, this weeks goals are:
1. Continue to log food
2. Do 20 minutes dancing a day- Zumba DVD/ Xbox, Just Dance Wii or whatever
Here goes....0 -
Hey Rosy,
good to see you made the Zumba class - hope you've been keeping it going. Lots of friends on here swear by Zumba so I hpe it's filling you with energy too.
as for me I've been pretty good on the alcohol front although caught myself catching the lift a couple of times this week so need to revert back to stairs double quick!!
Good luck all0
