Am new am at 220lb I need help in losing weight

    Welcome! I have only been on MFP for 1-2 mo but I love it! Best piece of advice I've seen from anyone is to weigh your food in grams on a digital scale and record everything you eat:)

    Drink more water, and practice minimalism.

    Let me tell you, this app/website has really been an enormous help to me. Last year I lost close to 90 pounds and people constantly ask me how I did it...and I always tell them about MyFitnessPal.

    The concept to losing fat is simple---eat fewer calories than your body burns in a day. It's called a calorie deficit.

    Actually cutting your calories and putting your body in a deficit it the hard part!!!
    But...it's definitely possible. Lots of us have made big changes. Ask questions. Learn all you can. Get excited about what you're doing!

    them: so how'd you do it?
    me: I got off my *kitten* occasionally, became aware of what I was eating, and focused on being happier. I also do YouTube videos.
    them: -fading of smile- Oh.... okay then.
