Cheat days...well two of them in a row

I had two cheat days back to back. Well not really cheat days but on Sunday we climbed Mount Monadnock in NH I was banking 1000 calories before the 2 hour climb up and then 1.5 hour climb down. So I treated myself to a Chinese buffet and man was it good. Then yesterday I needed my Doritos so I bought a large bag and had around 35 chips! But after all was said and done I hardly gained 1.5 pounds. And I am back at exercising again.

I would imagine days like this are really needed for long term sanity. I think I beat myself up too much when I cheat. But for good reason. What do you all think of having cheat days while trying to lose weight?

I had 2 cheat days almost back to back this week, actually I had chinese buffet tonight! I log everything best I can and get right back on the wagon! It actually helps me to log it, seeing that "if every day were like today, you'd weigh xxx pounds in 5 weeks" motivates me to get back on track!

Honestly I think cheat days can help some. I had a bad week last week. 3 cheats n a row. I ate way to much and felt horrible. Then fresh start on Monday and I'm down 7 pounds already...you just have to log it and move on. It's a lifestyle. Your gonna have bad days/weeks but as long as you realize what your doing and get back on the wagon it's all good :)
    Good luck on your journey!

35 chips is like what, sub 500 cals? Cheat on.

But really, I eat like a monster and binge drink at least once a week. Don't count my calories and I still lose. Be careful with what you eat the rest of the time and be as active as you can be - it won't stop you.

I eat at maintenance or a few hundred calories above maintenance every single Saturday and consistently lose 2 pounds a week. I just make sure I'm diligent with my food/logging and exercising the rest of the week. I have skipped those "cheat days" every now and then and actually found that I don't lose weight as easily the next week without them. I'm a fan.
