Chin up! We all have a "bad" day now and then. The important thing is that you are aware of what you are eating and can make better choices over the next few days. Just consider this a cheat day! Keep up the good work!
  • It takes 3,500 calories beyond your regular burn to gain/lose 1 pound of fat, so at most you gained 1 lb of fat... HOWEVER all of the sodium in that food may cause you to retain water, so the scale may go up. Get back to your regular eating and drink lots of water... I find that cardio helps too.

Just hop back in to your healthy routine and drink plenty of water. I gained 1.8 lbs overnight after eating at Red Lobster on Friday night. I used Saturday as damage control but not by cutting back on my calorie intake. I just made sure I watched my sodium level like a hawk and had a lot of water. A LOT OF WATER!!! lol

Don't let this small setback discourage you. Today is a brand new day and just try to stay on track starting now. It will come back off again. Trust me! After damage control yesterday, I am back to where I left off on Friday morning. It can be done... and you CAN do it!

I agree with pps. Start a new day today... focus on drinking water today to help get rid of the sodium from the fast food and cider (yum).
Get some exercise in.... even if you don't feel like doing it... you'll be happy when you are done.

You won't have gained back much fat - you'd have to eat a couple of buckets of kfc and lots of cider to put on a pound of fat - but all the sodium will make you retain water. Be prepared for your weight to be up for a couple of days due to water retention. Drink lots of water to flush out the sodium and you'll be back on track in a few days. And remember, you have to be able to live with your dietary changes, you will always have some 'bad' days but as long as you balance them out with 'good' days, you'll be fine in the long run.
  • I have been the same as you... Macdonalds yesterday, planned to be healthy today but have had a very poorly 18 month old so have grabbed unhealthy snacks all day. Was also feeling a bit depressed as I lost 5lb last week and then put on 2lb yesterday due to TOM. Don't worry, as others have said as long as you know that you have had a "cheat day" and are willing to get back on track tomorrow, I am sure it won't matter. I am planning on doing a hour or so of cardio tonight... children permitting

Its ok do not fret we all fall off the wagon at times--I'm just coming off a bad two weeks the most important thing is that we do catch ourselves and take responsibility for our actions. Anything you have gained will be gone within a day or so. Take some time to think about why you ate what you ate, were you stressed, tired or just bored with being good or maybe you just felt like it no matter what the reason pat yourself on the back and return to your healthy eating--you're going to be ok.

I had a really rough day yesterday too, but when I logged my food and MFP said that if I ate that way every day i would weigh 138.9 lbs in 5 weeks. That is only a .8 lb gain. So log what you ate and don't expect a big loss this week, but don't beat yourself up about it. We are all human and we all have bad days. Tomorrow is a new day!

Sometimes when I have a bit of a binge I end up losing weight and I'm sure that's not how its supposed to work but what I'm saying, like many other people, it is surely not going to be as bad as you think and as long as you get some veggies and water over the next few days you should be a-OK :)

We all have our bad days. Don't get discouraged.
Keep your chin up and just keep going. Don't look back.
It's ok to occasionally indulge, just be sure to get on track & back in the game. =)
