Did anybody else notice or is it just me?

When I'm logging my weight loss, the site isn't automatically adjusting my calories. I have to go into settings and submit the new weight so my calories will adjust. Does everyone have to do this? I've noticed that some people never realized and that may be the reason they're not seeing the numbers they think they should be seeing.

I just entered in that I'd lost a total of 10lbs. The site asked me if I'd like it to redue my Not sure if this is what your talking about. HTH's0

I've totally noticed that! I appreciate you calling attention to that cuz it can really fudge with your weight loss goals!
:huh:0 -
My calorie goals change only if I exercise or change how much you want to lose. I think if you are losing a large amount of weight it may be different?0
-
I didn't notice it right away. I think this should be automatically done, or at least prompt you that there could be a change.0
-
stupid computer deleted 1/2 my dang post. Anyway it asked to redue my calories and nutritional info because of the weight loss. Not sure if that's what your meaning.0
-
Mine does that too. I think it does that because you're already pretty low on calories anyway. My goal is to eat 1450 a day, but I barely eat over 1300.0

Thanks for mentioning this! When I updated my weight loss, my weekly expected weight loss is less. Not a bad thing, but I would have become discouraged if I was expecting to lose 1 pound a week rather than the .7 pound per week it is projecting I will lose.:flowerforyou:0

Mine automatically asked if I wanted to lower my calories when I hit 10 pounds lost0

i received a prompt suggesting/asking if i wanted to redo/update the settings after i had lost some weight during early part of my membership here, (can't recall what my total loss was at that time, though i think it was around 10 pounds?). i accepted the prompt.
since then i have just periodically gone into my settings to play around or check for myself and since then i have not received a prompt so i assume i am no longer getting a prompt cause i am already doing it myself periodically0 -
Well I've lost 12 pounds and it never changes with my weight loss. I don't think I should be eating the same calories they gave me to eat when I was 12 pounds heavier, so I always go into the tools and just hit submit because I've already entered my current weight and then it adjusts by a few calories -- like 20 or 30, but still.0

When that prompt comes up asking if you'd like to be asked after every 10 lbs, there is a button to click saying "Don't Ask Again". You may have accidentally clicked that one time, and that's why it's not prompting you.0

I've lost 12 and it never prompted me. That may be cuz I've been messing around with it since I started.0 -
Thanks for posting this. I already knew it, but had forgotten. Went in and updated my goals, and I lost 20 calories a day! You are very right that this could be one of the issues for people that are stuck.0

I've lost 15with no prompt, but I may have played with the settings along the way too. When I started here I was still doing weight watchers online so who knows what I have done. lol0

I mean I know like a few calories doesn't seem like a big deal or whatever. Especially for people like me who don't even come close to eating all of their calories usually, but it does add up and there will be those days where you didn't work out or something and think you have more calories then you really should ya know..0
-
Omg! I just updated my profile in settings like you said and it took away 20 of my calories! (Which really sucks because I can't exercise this week!):sad:0
-
It used to prompt you if you wanted to have MFP recalculate at 10 pounds loss but doesn't anymore for me so I go back and have it recalculate every 5-10 pounds lost.0

Thank you, I just changed mine and I have lost some calories too - might help though0

I don't remember ever getting a notice about changing my calorie intake. Then again, after I lost the 20lbs, I went ahead and lowered my intake to 1300. So I don't know....0

I don't remember seeing a prompt or a message reminder.. but I do notice that for every lb. lost... my calories go down by appro. 10
Even though I workout 6x/week .. I changed my activity setting from mildly active to sedentary. This took me from 1440 cals to 1280. I had been "stuck" .. and that got me going again. Of course, I have more calories if I need them due to exercise, but actually find it easier to stay in the 1280 range than the 1440 range. I can't explain THAT, but I am not struggling like I was. Maybe it's caused me to pack every ounce of nutrition I can into 1280 instead of 1440.. so my choices overall have been better? Could be.
But yes, we have to update our own settings. :flowerforyou:0 -
Glad I could help a few people (;0

Oh..while we are on a related topic.. can anyone tell me why my settings [% of cals from protein/fat/carbs] keep changing back to what I can only guess is a default?
I want them at: 40 protein / 30 carb / 30 fat
I checked today, they were back at: 55% carb / etc.
I was wondering why it kept saying over in protein with tons of carbs/sugar left over.
Anyone?:ohwell:0 -
Mine readjusted today when I went in to look at my settings. I am going to sorely miss those 40 calories everyday, haha.0

I know that stuff changes when you input exercise because you get more of those grams to eat back once you've exercised.0
