I am not overweight but 5'8 and 163 lbs and female. My issue is every where is fine but my stomach it sticks our around 38 inches. I am not sure if this is fat or bloating but it isn't a fibroid(got it checked). Not sure what to do.

I would seek medical advise, if it is bloating, I am sure there is medication that can address that. Ive got nothing... sorry.2

Beer belly?
High carbohydrate diet could do this. Beer is high carb.
Ever notice how to kids that have malnutrition in Africa have bellies sticking out? Are you eating anything nutritious?

Get it checked again. Is it hard? If socampbout at a doctors office until they give you an ultrasound. I had to push hard for a diagnosis, but abdomen bloat was my big symptom for something serious. Good lick6

I don't drink beer or any alcohol... This is why I am confused...0

it is somewhat hard but also squishy0

Just throwing this out-any possibility of you being pregnant and not knowing it?11

Second thought is celiac can cause crazy bloating. I'd go back into the doctors and have more testing done.2 -
Do you have any digestive/ bowel issues? I've seen IBD patients with bellies like that3

There are many things it could be, but we need more information to even have a chance of helping you figure it out (most of us don't have medical degrees so your best bet is always finding a really good doctor). Do you have any history of eating disorders? I know with anorexia if you go long periods of starving or under eating most of the weight gain will go straight to the stomach, unfortunately. It's happened to me, but on a much smaller scale than this.
I wish you all the best and I hope you figure out what it is! Once you do find out the cause please keep us updated as I'm sure this may help someone down the road!1 -
My co-worker has Crohn's and she sometimes gets a belly like that.1

I don't eat fast or processed foods. I generally eat pretty well and have never had any past with eating disorders.

Seriously, please get an ultrasound. You can PM me, but my story is pretty scary. What I learned is that sometimes you need to advocate for your health hard. I saw multiple doctors before I found one who took me seriously. If you have a protruding abdomen, especially one that is getting worse, you need to get it checked out.12

My tummy doesn't do that but I've been many Crohn's and UC patient's bellies that do0 -
Also, my issues were accompanied by the symptoms of IBD and a number of other things. Find someone who will treat the underlying condition not the symptoms.0

Could it be visceral fat? It's pretty much fat around the organs which causes belly fat, mostly. Though you are in a healthy weight, you are on the higher scale, you could be holding fat in your stomach. Have you ever tried to lose it through calories deficit?
I would first rule out any medical possibilities. Have you ever done a body fat test? What have Doctors said/suggested? Do you feel uncomfortable? having bowl movements everyday?

How old are you? I am in my early 40's and have the same issue due to (I think) peri-menopause. Is this something new?0

Go to a new doctor, just because it's not a fibroid doesn't mean it isn't something else. Ovarian cancer for instance often has non specific symptoms like abdominal bloating. I would think they would at least want to do an ultrasound to rule out certain things.7

Well like other have said going to the doctor to check for other things would be ideal but it doesnt look bad.0

I second this. Go have it checked again. I had an ovarian cyst that grew huge. I ended up with sepsis, kidney failure, and in the hospital for 6 weeks. Get it looked at.4 -
I have a similar issue...add me!1

Please pm for info1

So this is kind of weird, but at 18, I would consider having a parent go with you for no other reason than people over 30 are taken more seriously with their health problems. It sucks, but if you're not getting anywhere, having your parent demand an ultrasound might help.17

I had the same thing. I was just skinny fat. I started eating at a deficit and as I lost weight, I lost the stomach. can't hurt to talk to a doctor though especially considering how young you are.0

D O C T O R. Now. Please.
Also, when you say there's no possibility you're pregnant, do you mean "I know for sure because male seminal fluid has never been within 50 feet of me" or "I trust birth control's claim of 99.9% effective and I took my pill therefore I can't be pregnant"? I'm not trying to call you a liar or anything, I'm really not. I just have a sleeping two year old next door who I couldn't POSSIBLY have been pregnant with because "birth control is 99.9% effective"...26
