An inch seems like a lot considering the small weight loss, is it possible to not lose much weight but see a difference ?

This is quite possible, because our weight isn't a static thing. Rather, we go through a range of different weights in a day. Try this for example: Weigh yourself just before a big workout, and then again just after. The difference in weight could be a couple of kilograms (5 pounds) - although this would be 5 pounds of water, rather than fat. Similarly, eating a meal makes you heavier, and going to the loo makes you lighter. So if your first measurement was at your lightest point in the day, and the second measurement was at your heaviest, then even if you've done excellent work, it might look like a negligible amount of weight loss. Don't worry, just keep doing the good things you've been doing.
