I can't be the only person who has a HORRIBLE sweet tooth? For me, it's normally around 2 am when I'm just getting off work and all I want is to drown myself in chocolate and ice cream and watch Netflix till 4am NOT OKAY! So what are some better alternatives to satisfy my sweet tooth?

Protein bars and fruits u can also bake with sweetener.0

I would buy a vanilla protein powder, a cheap $14 small blender, and add 8 oz of skim milk.
The calcium and magnesium in milk actually make me feel a bit sleepy.
And the protein powder really makes me feel full.
(vanilla b/c some people stay awake w/ caffeine in chocolate powders).
(milk calms down my sugar cravings - not sure if anyone else).0 -
Protein shake or a creamy smoothie always hit the spot for me without the guilt. I've been drinking Ump cookies and cream but sometimes I buy a cheaper vanilla whey protein and add a half tsp cinnamon, it's magically delicious. As for smoothie, try 1 banana, 1 tsp almond butter, 1 tsp cocoa powder, 1/2tsp agave or 1 Splenda for a little more sweetness, add ice and desired amount of soy or almond milk, blend and enjoy.0

I buy dark chocolate chips. Portion out 100-150 calories worth. I pop 1-2 in my mouth at a time and just let them melt in my mouth. It takes longer to eat and usually by the time I am done I am satisfied with the amount of chocolate I have had.1

Lilys chocolate is pretty good. I normally go for redi whip and strawberries0

Greek Yoghurt ! If you're a chocoholic like me add some unsweetened cocoa powder - chococlate dessert. Or add unsweetened Cocoa powder ( and some vanilla extract if you like ) to a pot of quark - high protein, healthy, low in sugar , filling ! Make some flapjacks for when the craving strikes made with oats, vanilla extract, butter or peanut butter ( or even a mashed banana ! ) and some dark chocolate ( 80% + dark ) chips ( can also add nuts and / or dried fruit ). Make homemade trail mix in pre-portioned plastic sandwich bags. Make ahead some banana ice cream - frozen blended bananas ( can add cocoa powder, peanut butter , strawberries, chocolate chips etc ! ).
When a sugar craving hits me I have a piece of what I fancy ( e.g chocolate ) - and then I grab a fruit such as a huge grapefruit or apple or orange or banana etc for the sugar craving without eating more of the chocolate or sweets !
Buy little boxes of raisins to grab if you want to grab a bag of candy.
Milk is my friend too !! I can drink a pint or 2 to satisfy the sugar craving and I will feel energised with the natural sugar and the protein - also a lot of calcium !
Or try some non-added sugar cereal such as weetabix or puffed wheat with milk ( or almond milk ) with a lot of fruits - filling as it gives you sugar, carbs and protein.
Try freezing fruits such as blueberries, grapes, strawberries, raspberries etc to quickly grab in a craving !
A banana or apple with peanut butter is good too ! Or bake some low sugar cookies ( google them there are tons ! ) so you know you have healthy snacks to go to in time of need.
Personally I wouldn't go the 'sweetener' route as they are known to have an effect on blood sugar levels even so.. and are actually not very good for you. They can also cause digestive issues which can be quite bad if over-doing it ( this is from experience ! ) . Stevia etc are also unlikely to do much to the craving as you may get some sweet taste but your body will still want sugar quickly after - good rule is a little of what you fancy then try to substitute with healthy, filling foods that will keep you going !0 -

Buy a really high cocoa content (80-90%) dark chocolate - e.g. the thin 100g bars with large squares - and have just one or two squares broken into smaller pieces. Gives a strong cocoa flavour from each piece that lasts longer in my mouth and seems more satisfying than higher-calorie chunks of low cocoa or white chocolate.0

Sliced bananna, whipped cream (a tbsp is huge) and a few salted peanuts, so good!0
