Sorry, but everyone who said it's yummy...I have to disagree. It tastes like cardboard to me!!

That's all.

Hahahahahaha! Tried it a long time ago & was NOT impressed! But since then I've been diagnosed as gluten intolerant so choices are even more restricted. I am getting used to toasting EVERYTHING!

That is the way I feel about greek yogurt...everyone told me to eat it so I could get more protein. I wanted to throw up as soon as I put it in my mouth.
  • yeah it's really only good if it's toasted and slathered with some type of delicious topping. try the english muffins though! SO different from the bread - they're actually soft and fluffy and taste like BREAD!

Different brands of greek yogurt are different. Try Chobani - the peach flavor first. That's the one that tastes best to me.

That's the thing though, I toasted it and spread butter on it (although sparingly)....I figured if butter can't make it taste good.....lol.

If you have access to bountiful baskets in your area, try the 9 grain bread. It's yummy and only 50 calories a slice.

I like the tortillas and that's it. I have tried a zillion *gluten free and whole grain breads and haven't really loved any. I can tolerate some, but honestly that's one of those things I'd rather just cut back on and eat the real thing. Fortunately I am not a bread junkie.

*FYI: I know Ezekiel bread isn't gluten free.

The tortilla's are awesome - I can eat sprouted wheat, but not normal wheat flour, so they are a godsend to me. I've tried the brown rice tortillas, and they suck! And I love corn tortilla, but they're so small, no good for burritos.

As for the bread - can't say I've tried it. If you want to try a different brand of sprouted grain bread, I recommend one called Silver Hills (I like the Squirrely and the Steady Eddie types). They are dense breads, but I find them yummy in comparison to rice breads. They're a Canadian brand, but I believe they sell south of the border too. In Canada it is available at Costco and Walmart (at least in AB and BC). They also have bagels, but they are harder to find (usually health food stores).

I love Ezekiel and when it's toasted to me, it tastes just like regular whole wheat.

I actually like Ezekiel bread. But since I avoid most bread now, I haven't had it in about 110 days. I am keeping a loaf in my freezer, maybe to celebrate an achievement or something, with a slice of toast and some honey. In all probability, it will take me a long while to celebrate a whole loaf's worth before freezer burn sets in, so I know at some point the birds will be getting a nice snack.

I agree. It taste and feels like cardboard box. I tried this other bread which is MUCh MUCH better than ezekiel. P28. It has 28g of protein for 2 slices. and it actually taste good. Has a bit of a spongy texture but much more edible than ezekiel.

I actually really love Ezekial. But I love toast, and I'd always toast my Ezekial. I love how crunchy and 'nutty' it is... I feel like I'm eating solid fiber when I eat it, which I like.

I think the Ezekiel bread really is an "acquired" taste... I honestly LOVE it. Especially with some peanut butter and jam. You definitely have to toast it though. But it's weird because I think most other whole wheat/whole grain breads lack flavor, but the Ezekiel bread actually tastes like bread should.... like whole grains and a bit of a nuttier flavor.

I second the Dave's Killer Bread though if you don't like the Ezekiel-- it is pretty good (way more calories than Ezekiel, but still pretty good).

I guess I may give it a try again...if nothing else than to finish the loaf without wasting too much of it. Maybe I could put some salsa on top of it....I could put salsa on anything and eat it!

Agree!!! But, I do like the Ezekial bread toasted with some Earth Balance & honey. Not crazy about it untoasted though.
