goal weight: 120 lbs.

I have lost 13 lbs since January 1st. I feel like I am doing everything right. My weight is coming off so slowly. Anyone else struggling with the last 10 or so pounds? I'm getting discouraged.

How many calories are you eating per day? How much are you losing per week? How are you measuring your food?

Hello! Our stats are very similar..

    Start weight: 151lb
    Current weight: 132lb
    Goal weight: 120lb
    5'3
    Female
    23 years old

I started my journey in mid Feb and I started by eating at a deficit with no exercise, other than walking (I was recovering from an injury.) Then roughly 5 weeks ago I started at the gym and have been going at least 6 times a week but usually 7, doing 45 mins hard cardio. And do weights 2/3 times a week.

I haven't struggled with the weight loss yet but recently started to struggle with the low calories. I've been eating 1200 calories the entire time but suddenly that just won't do so have had to go up to 1500. This is my first week of upping calories so will see what the scales are like on Sunday!

I don't know much about the science behind weight loss but they do say the last 10lbs is the hardest. Have you looked at healthstatus.com? They have a great weight loss calculator which shows you when you can expect to reach your goal weight, I find that super encouraging and it helps me not to expect super fast results. If I stick to my current routine I should reach my goal by July according to the calculator, here is a link https://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/how-to-lose-weight-fast

You're doing great, try to be patient it will be so worth it in the end!

Many people find that their weight loss does slow down as they approach goal -- this is because you have less room to build a deficit (because lighter bodies burn fewer calories). .75 a week actually sounds awesome, although I know it can be frustrating to slow down.

Yes! I'm 5'2" too and I have 7.5 lbs left til my goal weight and it is taking forever! Hopefully, since I just finished my TOM I will have lost something when I weigh myself this week. I think it's just that when we're short and our total daily energy expenditure is so low we just don't have much of a margin for error and we have to make sure our logging is absolutely perfect. But hang in there! We'll get there!

Out of interest, do you guys feel like you look close to your goal weight? I kind of feel like my last 12 pounds aren't going to make much of a difference but I really hope they do! @foxygirl14 @CSBmommy

I'm a guy...but same boat. 193, trying to get to 185. Had been 181 18 months ago, but 184-186 is my best weight. Been stuck around 193-196 all year.

Crazy part is I'm working out a LOT harder than I did when I lost the weight. It's not the number. I had a lot of clothes altered and/or bought a different size. I'm right in my smallest size and the next size bigger. Once those clothes fit right, I'll be happy no matter what the scale says.

I honestly don't think so. I already wear 0 in jeans and S/XS shirts so there's no motivation there, but the biggest thing for me is that I'm really, really self-conscious with my husband and I want to feel confident about how I look for him. I'm just hoping this will help!

I don't look close to my goal weight. I have 22 month old and 7 month old. So my lower stomach has that pooch.
