What motivated me? I saw a picture of a swimsuit I really wanted to wear. I mean it called to me, whispering of beach frolics and blue seas. I wanted THAT swimsuit. Not the other size, the one they showed in the picture. Soooo, I bought the swimsuit, and every morning I would think about that skimpy bikini through burpees and lateral pillar bridges.
I cut out chicken (me the carnivore), bread slowly went away, alcohol and sweets (OK - more like hardly ever eat them), started exercising 30 mins a day before work and I've lost 14lbs so far this year. Funny, last year I had a gym membership and I put ON 10 lbs! It's not the clothes or the expensive equipment, it's really the motivation.
I'm not exercising anymore for the swimsuit. In truth, I hit my swimsuit with by toning more than loosing weight. Now I do it for me. Because exercising takes me to a happy place each day. Pilates, Cardio, Abs, whatever. I find some way to stretch and move while I remind myself to take care of the new me!

PS: The daily app I use: SWORKIT (I'm a sucker for earning points
