Help me understand what is going on

So here is a little background.
I fell last week off a curb spraining my ankle. This took me out the gym for 5 days while I recovered. During that time I got a bit depressed as I have injured the same ankle a few months back and it was a big set back for me. I have 2-3 days where I was not very strict with my diet, eating the same foods just more sometimes to excess because I was depressed after the injury
I have been back to my routine, and working out avoiding compound exercises that strain the ankle due to stability when lifting heavy. This has been only two days of working out and getting back on my diet.
I stepped on the scale today for the first time in weeks and I am down almost 5lbs from my lowest pre-injury. Can someone help me understand this? I have a good understanding of how my body holds water for both repair and retention.
- I have eaten more
- Water intake has stayed the same
- While I was hurt I was sedentary
First thought was my scale is broken..

Healing requires your body to expend energy, so it's possible that you have burned more calories than you thought even though you weren't very active.0

It could still be changes in water content.2

If you have cut back on your routine, you are probably retaining less water for muscle repair, and associated with that is less weight on the scale. Even without a change in water retention, 5lbs/2.2kgs is within a lot of peoples normal fluctuations.
However, if you were logging and eating fine for before you hurt your ankle but hadn't weighed in a while, you are probably seeing results from that time period.1 -
I have the same thing happen to me and it's a loss of water from not being in the gym with my "pump".0

no workouts not fluid retention.1

I average loss per week has been anywhere from 0.5 - 2 lbs per week. When I am working out regularly so this is a loss I am not accustom to seeing.
My water intake hasn't fluctuated and my sodium has increased, everything points to a water retention gain rather than a loss.
Also with my first injury to the ankle a 8 weeks ago I was out for 7-10 days and even on a controlled diet my weight dipped only half a pound.
