I think the "bands" name was Wang Chung, anything they put out was horrible and made me cringe every time I heard it...

Nirvana-Yes I said Nirvana. They ushered in the whole seattle music which killed metal imo. It is because of them tampon rock became so popular.

Don't go by the urban dictionary's definition. I'm talking about bands who mix a hard rhythm but have whiny lyrics.

To answer your question about tampon rock I looked it up on urban dictionary for you: a vulgar phrase used by men to describe mostly "folk-y" music made by women, to demean them.

I would not AT ALL call Nirvana folk-y. But I think Nirvana rescued us from boy bands.

    This makes me angry.
Nirvana made me who I am today.
Along with Bush, Goo Goo Dolls, Third Eye Blind, Counting Crows, etc.

I am a Grungebaby, and damn proud of it.

Yeah, I LOVE Nirvana. I don't listen to them for months on end but when I re-visit I'm always impressed again. Admittedly, *some* of the heavier stuff is a bit meh! And there are definite glimpses of lyrical mediocrity but I wouldn't say this detracts from them at all.

My list of worst music is extremely long...but I shall shorten it so I can just say New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, Dee Lite, Meat Loaf, Mariah Carey, Goo Goo Dolls, Oasis, and I guess I will stop with All 4 One.

Of course, I hate most pop rock anyway, doesn't really matter what era. It all sucks. Not as bad a country or rap, but it's still bad.

And I truly feel sorry for anyone that would say that Nirvana killed metal. It's one thing to not like them, but to think that one band single handedly killed off an entire genre is silly. You must have watched too much MTV News back in the day, huh? And then chose to ignore some awesome bands of today like Iced Earth or Mastodon that came out after metal supposedly died...and Megadeth and Slayer that survived the whole era and still are around to play today. Or did was it the glam rock hair metal that you are accusing Nirvana of "killing?" But wait, isn't it Motley Crue and Poison stopping on their tour here in Charlotte in just a couple of weeks? Damn, what was it exactly that Nirvana killed??? Other than Cobain himself...but I digress.

I've been a metalhead since birth. And I also rock out to Nirvana from time to time...
