I think today is my 118 the day signing onto fitness pal. although to be honest, the last I think 7 days I just log on as to " keep " my logging on streak going. I know, very dishonest to myself. My last weigh in was on the 17th of this month. How the heck do you put 8 lbs on in 10 days. I would have to be eating like a horse.....nonstop. But I guess I did cause I did put the 8 lbs back on. I think I have been somewhat depressed this last week and not feeling motivated at all. I get a big comfort in food and I know that is a bad feeling to get but it is true. I want to loose weight and look better but I have such a hard time following through. I am a food addict I think.Right now I am 204 lbs and I should be down to 145 - 155 or so. I would like to get down to 145 but I will be happy with the 155. I am not unhealthy as far as my body goes, heart is good and all that other stuff is good...Im just fat. I got my *kitten* of the couch today and went for a long walk and am going tonight with my husband as well. It did feel good . I really wish I was one of those girls that could eat anything and still be thin.....no such luck though. I know , you have to take it day by day and dont think that you are going to loose the weight overnight, as my husband says...you didnt put the weight on over night.....I wonder sometimes though, since I did put this 8 lbs on 10 days. Well these were my thoughts in my head. Im sure there are lots of people out there that this happens to as well

    1. Its absolutely okay to take a break now and then.
    2. When you go from eating at a deficit to eating at or above your maintenance calories, your body's glycogen stores refill - so you gain water weight. You didn't gain 8 pounds of fat in 10 days - most of it was water. And once you get yourself back to eating at a deficit, the water weight will go away in a week or two. :)
    3. NO ONE can eat 'like a horse' and stay thin. People who are 'naturally' thin just naturally eat fewer calories than those of us who gained weight.

It is amazing that you got your butt off the couch today - you haven't given up. Perhaps you're 'taking a deficit break', and that's okay. I find that I go through times where I don't care if I overeat, but I'll still log it so that I stay accountable to myself. I have lost 70 pounds and kept it off using MFP. Even after nearly 3 years, I still log. SOme days I'm under calories and some days I'm over. There are days or even a week or two here or there that I go hog-wild and eat all the cookies, drink all the beers and have all the chips and hotdogs. It's all about balance. Sometimes you get to forget you're striving for fitness, so long as most of the time you keep yourself accountable.

Hugs, honey. You've got this. I believe in you.

I've got a lot to lose too and some days it definitely seems overwhelming but I'm going to keep plugging along and you can do it too! I'd love to be your friend and when times get tough we can help get each other through it! Just recognizing that you're ready to jump start your fitness again is a great accomplishment!

Well your here now so that counts for something! You got up and where active today so that counts too !
We all have times where our heads aren't in the game so to speak. Just keep going anyway. I like the phrase" fake it until you make it "
Just keep getting up and doing it even when you don't feel like it. All the little things do add up to big change in the end. After a while , you'll get used to your new routine and it wont be so hard to follow through on. After something becomes habit, part of your daily life , you can do it without even giving it much thought. So just keep going and you'll get there eventually!

You're my same age :) I finally found something that works for me. I'm doing intermittent fasting 18/6 aka one big meal. I've never been so happy while restricting calories. I sleep better and I wake up full of energy. I know it's not for everyone but I've been so happy. I make some pretty questionable food choices and if I ate better I'd probably have lost the rest of the weight by now. I know it's not for everyone but it's working for me. Oh yeah, a big plus is logging is easier because I only have to do it once a day. Maybe twice when I have calories left over.

I love MFP it works for me, I sometimes only log on so as not to lose my streak. I do 5:2 intermittent eating. Love that I am in control of myself at long last. I walk and lift weights at home and at the local gym. Did classes for a while but got bored. Please feel free to add me
