Hey everyone! Not totally new to MFP, but I took a 6 month hiatus and I am now back! I've started a vegan diet (about 1.5 weeks ago) for many great reasons, and I love it so far! I'm looking to add some vegan friends on here since I'm super new at this. I need all the support, motivation and nutritional information I can get on this vegan lifestyle! Any helpful advice is welcome ❤️

Hi! :-) I recently came back on MyFitnessPal too, actually. It's sooo important to do your research before diving into veganism. Some people try it for a week then say it's not for them and go back to their old diet (which is understandable when all they're eating is lettuce and some nuts!! nobody would be satisfied on that!) There's a lotttt of great information on the Internet to help keep you on sustainable vegan diet. A lot of it has to do with eating enough! And of the right stuff. Make sure you're getting all your nutritional needs met, I have a vegan-daily multivitamin that I like a lot. There's so many delicious (and healthy!) vegan recipes out there, just google it or look on Pinterest. When you go vegan- the Internet becomes your best friend haha1

Hi! You should add me as well! I just started on My Fitness Pal and would love to make some vegan friends. I have been vegetarian for almost three years now and am working toward becoming vegan (fingers crossed that I can do it!). There's so much confusing info on the internet about being vegan so I'm already finding it kind of daunting but I'm gonna try my best to figure it out2

Thanks to you both!! Yes there's sooo much information out there and I've been doing my research since early this month! What actually got me started was binge watching Cowspiracy, Food Inc., Fed Up, Earthlings and numerous vegan YouTubers. I'm glad I've started this journey and yes, there's so much to learn. I literally feel like I'm learning something new everyday..which i'm thankful for the fact that there's numerous resources out there on Veganism.1

If you are a new vegan, I highly recommend you take the time to learn some about nutrition because it will be of importance to you as you continue on this journey. A main struggle of being vegan is certain vitamins; b12, zinc, vitD, omega3 oils, etc. Here's a good resource to get you started:

It's a lot to read, but it's not like you need to do it all at once. Take your time, ease into your education and enjoy the journey.
If you haven't already joined some of the groups, I recommend

Yesss! I watched Cowspiracy and Food Inc. as well! They definitely motivated me to become vegan. I haven't been able to make myself watch Earthlings yet because I hear it's really sad and hard to watch. But maybe I will eventually. YouTube has been super helpful as well. I've noticed a little bit of conflicting information among youtubers like HCLF and RT4 etc. but I think the overall message was to eat plant based and whatever makes you feel the best so that's what i'm trying to do1
