Hello

Hello, my name is Sharon. I am sorry I'm late, I am just starting my 3rd day here and still learning my way around the site. I am looking to lose around 25lbs. I have never really dieted myself, but have helped other people when I worked as an independent consultant for Herbalife 5-10 years ago. I stopped working for them when my body started rejecting their products after I'd had the flu.

My husband and I moved to Oregon about 3 years ago with his job and I thought that would be the start of a new life for me, that I would be more active, but really, I'm not. While in New Mexico where we moved from, I had worked at a sedentary job, working on the computer toward a career in writing when I wasn't working with Herbalife, and that was the start of it.

Coming here, I've had a pretty rough time making friends. Sure I am nice to people when I meet them, and we have a good time, but its nothing like the connections I had with my friends in New Mexico. In New Mexico, at the drop of a hat, I could get in the car during the day and drive over to my friend's house to hang out while my husband was a sleep before he had to work at night. Here, I have no one like that, so again, I am in the sedentary life and when I'm not working on my writing - which has been hard because the main computer I was using has become communal since my in laws now live with us - and the inspiration isn't there, I am playing video games of some sort.

My husband and I joined the Oregon III% group in our area, and have met people through that, and I found Thrive Life through them, but the woman who introduced me to them now lives further away so I don't have much of a friend connection there either. Right now my mother in law is my walking buddy.

In June, my husband and I are going to a Combat Camp, and I have mixed feelings about it. I am both looking forward to it, and dreading it. I have Fibromyalgia and fear that they will do stuff I just can't do, but I also am excited to try. I know right now, I probably won't survive it, so I want to lose the 25lbs in hopes of doing so, having more energy and hopefully, being able to get through the combat camp with a good chance of minimal soreness and Fibro flare ups.

Oregon can be a daunting experience, even after being here I'm refered to as a Californian. They don't take to outsiders well in some areas and if you weren't born here your an outsider.
And then depending on where you live the weather sometimes makes it seem like to much trouble to go outside for a walk. I live near the central coast it rains_a lot.
So with that said there are lots of wonderful people out there. Find a charity to volunteer with humane societies can always use help maybe they have dog walking that's fun and not only do you get that much needed exersize so does some deserving pooch. Otherwise you can always befriend me on here and we can help each other.
