hey guys , so this year i have gone thru a major cut ,120 pounds from 270 to 150 im 5'9 20 yo. ive been bulking the last 4 or so months and put about 25ish pounds of good weight on. but.. there always a but im going on vacation in july and want to look 'cut', so im trying to figure out how long i should run a cut for? here are some progress photos
before at 270
after the cut at 150
and curently about 175-180
so mu conundrum is this A how long should i cut?
B what macros should i use currently im maintaing at 2600 cals a day
my macros are 330 p 250 c 40-60 f
i came up with this ratio from a body building nutrionist i went to see,
i have cut cardio all together currently, i lift 6-7 days a week a push pull core and legs, ive definitely put some mass on and i can feel the muscle growth. i dont particularity want to lose any muscle cutting but at the same time ive never looked decent with out my clothes on before any suggestions?

If I was in your situation I would probably just cut 4-6 weeks before vacation. Nothing crazy but dropping a few pounds might make the muscle gains you made really stand out. And if you don't look that much different than now, you look beach ready and look substantially better than you did at 150!
Your protein seems really high and your fat seems a bit low.0 -
First things first:
Your transformation is incredible!!!!!
Well done!!!!!!
Secondly, you look beach ready now. I second the suggestion to only cut for about 4-6 weeks before vacation and keep adding muscle until then.
ETA: you're eating more protein than you need. You could drop that down to about 175-200 grams and still be golden. Wouldn't hurt to up your fat intake some either.1 -

Yeah I realized my protien is high but I think it's what helps me stay so lean when I was 150ish I was in the 6% bf range and was scared of gaining to much fat back

All I can say is holy shitake! You are amazing!
Beach body ready today for sure! But I get wanting to shed some fat for vacation time. The 4 - 6 week cut before vacation is all you need.0 -
Lol thanks it's crazy because I realized I don't look the same but I always see the need for improvement in my body now before I never really even cared about how I looked0

Your overall calorie count is what keeps you lean. Eat more than you burn and you'll gain. Eat less and you'll lose.
Eat just a little bit more while lifting heavy and you'll lean bulk (as you've done for the past 25 lbs gained).
You are right that getting plenty of protein is going to maximize your muscle gain/retention.
However, this basically maxes out at a point. So 3 grams per pound of bodyweight is really no better than 1.2 grams.0 -
I like the way you look at 150, lean and strong, and think that you do NOT look overfat now either, just stronger and bulkier, also a good look.
I would vote for eating at maintenance and just continue progressing the workouts to meet whatever athletic goals you have.
And a big whompin' congratulations, that is one amazing transformation.0
