Hi there I'm on a cut at the moment, I'm looking to add in cardio, what cardio equipment do you enjoy in the gym, I can't do the treadmill because of knees and shins. I was thinking of cross trainer and stair master 3 days a week. I was thinking of 20 minutes stair then 20 cross trainer

Not sure if "enjoy" and "indoor cardio" belong in the same sentence. Of the machines, I find the rowing machine to be the most challenging. If you have room, you can do some serious cardio with kettlebells.

I find the elliptical is easy on my joints and shins, but I know others find it harder. I find the treadmill harder than walking or running on a track or outside because I am heavy enough the tread slips on me and throws me as well as has impact.

My gym I think does have them,I have not used them before.

Exactly my shins are knees get destroyed on the treadmill.

Rowing machine is good bang for buck, and works upper body to boot. I'd prefer that to elliptical. What about a ladder climb or stair climber?

The elliptical is good because its low impact. If your knees can handle it I would go with the stairs/stairmaster, because you have to physically push your body up with you step I feel it burns more. Rowing is also good because it doesn't really impact your legs (also good for your back strength!).

Love the elliptical, arc trainer, recumbent bike and as of recently been rowing. I have found the rower makes my knees ache a bit the next day. Not sure why, other than I haven't been doing it long and it's different movement.
I hate the treadmill. I won't use one, bores me to the core and I feel like I will fall off!

    Good luck!

Try swimming! Great full body workout and easier on joints

Buy a bicycle. Ride it outside.

I hate cardio in most forms, but I really enjoy swimming if I have access to a lap pool. Otherwise, I haul my butt onto the elliptical.
