So today I weighed in and I felt great since I reached the 150s! My goal weight is 135 and my highest weight was 180. I have been at this for a month and I feel great. I also found out last week that my cholesterol level is extremely high...way over even the "bad range". High cholesterol and heart disease runs in my family so naturally I was alarmed and scared especially only being in my early 20s. The doctor is giving me 2 months to lower it on my own with a strict diet before using medication. I decided I am motivated now more than ever to eat healthy and workout. Not only to look better but to be healthier. I have already done great so far. Sticking to the diet and eating less than 8 grams of saturated fat a day. I can do this!

    You are on the right track! I've had high cholesterol for a few years, and last year I managed to lower it to the borderline (201) by just watching my diet, but it's not enough because it's still high and HDL is low, LDL is very high. So I started actively exercise this year and eating more healthier. Guess what, my check up in May shows that I have lower my total cholesterol to 176, HDL up from 48 to 66, LDL lowered from 150+ to 99. So, I'm definitely know that you'll be there!

    FYI, not all fat is bad. Polyunsaturated & Monounsaturated are the good fat, and it helps you lower your LDL and up your HDL. Just watch out Saturated fat, and avoid Hydrogenated Oils which your body don't know what to do with it. Good luck on your journey and enjoy the ride.
