Back in the saddle again

After a long hiatus I have decided to get back in the game and lose 80 pounds of prednisone weight. My doc says I would feel better, get off of some of my meds, and I know I would look better as well. I think back to when I was younger and ran marathons, 5 and 10 Ks, hiked, camped, played on city league soccer teams, skied, and kept in good shape. Since I retired from the Air Force in 2002, my health has gone south and haven't been able to exercise like used to. When I retired I weighed 200 lbs. Now I weigh 298 lbs. I don't look good and I don't feel good. So my VA doc got me involved in the VA weight management program called Move. I feel about it as being an impetus to help me start losing weight and regaining my health.

Oh I so know the trip of the prednisone weight!! And I hate it!! I was a runner, hiker, spelunker, repeller, climber, fitness buff till I broke my back 20 years ago and have been struggling every day since. I am disabled and can't do normal things. But I am here for you and have also started a thread in health & encouragement. Add me to your friends list. It is good to push forward with friends! CJ0
