It was a beautiful day outside. We were sick of the gym. My sister had an extra bike....which I haven't ridden in about 20 years. Perhaps 7 miles was too far for my pampered butt.

Awkward part...I have welts...on my...upper thighs/butt...

I guess the good news is that I can hardly sit today, that has to burn some calories.

I'm trying to concentrate on the fact that I burned about twice as many calories as I do on leg days at the gym....

Next time try some anti-chafing cream and you won't have that problem. Good job burning a ton of calories though!

that's why they reccomend bike shorts.... I don't have any of those but have found it's best to wear some spandex and go comando under my other shorts to lessen the friction....

yep, yep...bike shorts are a must if you plan to be on a bike for long rides! I learned my lesson too in the cycling class....an hour on a bike is tough!! :)

I learnt about the true extent of chaffing the hard way too.

Next time don't forget the chaffing gel (I doubt you will ever forget - chaffing pain still remains vivid in my memory to this day!). Meanwhile, cornflour and cloth showers..........

I guess the silver lining is the calories burnt by the ride and from not being able to sit..... so long as you didnt spend the day walking to the fridge for some chocolate :-P

    Good luck!!

I agree with bstamps...chafing cream! Bike shorts that have extra padding help.
