Not sure if people actually read this but hey, you never know. Well my name is Dalia, im 18 years old , and I honestly hate how I look. When I was 11 I got sick and started throwing up my meals. So ofc my parents were consered and gave me vitamins that would give me an appetite and I gained a lot of weight, mostly because I couldnt control my eating. After years of eating unhealthy , and not being active, I decided I wanted to lose weight but also be healthy and strong. You have to do things for yourself and actually want it. If you want it for yourself, youre most likely to work harder and succeed. The thing you need the most when you hit this journey is motivation.

Hi Dalia , Yes people do read , sometimes it depends on when you write on the wall i guess I'm in australia so i'm a half day ahead of most everyone on here for me it's Sunday may 1st @ 2 pm arvo .. :) but others posting it's saturday night lol ...
Good for you recognising early at your age that you need to do something .. Alot of people like myself let it become a life long burden , I wish someone had grabbed me at 18 & showed me what to do , so congratulations for taking steps in the right direction ..

A couple of things Getting healthy doesn't happen overnight Dont be discouraged , it will happen just keep plugging away little bit by little bit .. Take each small step forward as an encouragement to keep going reward yourself ... new shirt or something each time you hit a small goal & any steps back or bad days let them go learn from it & try again at the next meal :)
Logging is so important get yourself a set of kitchen scales & weigh everything , it gets easier .
Plan as many meals as possible :)
Maybe join one of the challenges on here easy way to make friends and great for motivation.

& your right Motivation is so very important , this may sound weird but write it down , what your doing this for, whether it's to wear, nicer clothes to run a marathon , to love who you are in your skin, & put that somewhere you can see it all the time so when your down or don't feel like going to the gym etc , you can remind yourself ...
& get lots of friends on here - go to the just started thread and ask for friends your age & some older , there are so many people on here with really good experience & lots of encouragement
    Good luck on your journey
    cheers sharon
