I'm sure she enjoyed it. However, her stops sniffing for rabbits slowed us down a lot.

The hunters I've spoken to seem to teach their dogs to heel on the left & keep walking. Good luck.0

Oh she walked well just had her nose to the ground sniffing for rabbits. Made it a little slower. Just new she was gonna get a track and take off.0

Thank you0

I think all dogs sniff for stuff. Mine does.0

Very true. I guess I said it wrong. I kept tell her this was a leisure walk for her and a work walk for me.0

I have a beagle so I have to tell him "let's go" every two minutes. I can still get a decent walk in but some days are more trying than others.1

I have two beagles. Walking is a nightmare with them but good thing is that they have the stamina to walk for hours.1
-
Yes they do but if they get a smell get ready.0

I have a beagle/basset hound mix and she is difficult to walk with as she is always sniffing and hunting something. And she never appears to be in a hurry.0

What was the day's kill?0

I assume by the broad term "hunting dog" you actually meant a scent hound? 'Cause walking with a bird dog is a whole different experience.1

Yes. I should have clarified. Beagle. Rabbit dog.0
