MyFitnessPal & Pacer

I've got Pacer on my phone and it syncs with MFP. I notice, though, that the data isn't all the same. Tonight, for instance, Pacer tells me I walked a certain number of steps for a burning of 216 calories. After syncing, MFP notes the same number of steps, but says I only burned 90 calories. Can anyone help me to understand why?

I think it just calculates the difference is what you are expected to have burned based on your chosen activity level on mfp and the extra calories you burned. your walking might have burned 216 calories but some of those were already included in your goal so you burned 90 over that.0
