Hello

I am 4'11 and 208 lbs. I dont know how I ended up like this why I ever let it get this bad but it did. So I told myself that I am going to lose it. For me. However, starting out, working out is very hard. I tire very easy. I am wondering if this is normal at first? After 5 minutes on an elliptical I feel like I cant do it. Hw do I make it easier?
Thanks

You have to build up strength gradually. How much are you eating (how many calories per day)?

Start with a lower calorie/day, and a slow training program

Start out with 5 minutes on an elliptical for one week everyday do 5 minutes....the next week do 10 minutes for a week and keep building. I had a fitness test for a job to run a half mile in 6 minutes. Sounds easy as hell but when you're very over weight and hate running it was monumental!!! lol I practiced by doing jog drills....jog 100m then walk the next one jog another 100m until I finished 2 laps. After this I built myself up to jogging 1 whole lap without stopping. Not a major deal for people that run 5 miles from breakfast but it was huge for me. I did that for one week. Then I increased to 2 laps and so on until I was able to do a mile without stopping. So it doesnt happen overnight just keep at it.

Hey there! I feel your pain. I am 4' 11" and at my heaviest I was 212. Cardio is something you can build over time. It won't come all at once, especially if you have never exercised regularly before. What I find is the first few minutes are the hardest as my heart rate is increasing, then it gets easier. As previous posters have mentioned, try increasing it a little at a time. Good luck!

Hey I'm 4'11" and almost 2 months ago I weighted in at 205. I'm down about 13 pounds since then and did that simply by the calories in vs out. I do plan to start increasing excersize but honestly up till this point the most I've done is housework and normal day to day walking around. You can do this just take it one day at a time and don't get discouraged as time goes you'll build momentum in your excersizing :)
