How should I alter my calorie intake if I am breastfeeding? Baby is 3 weeks old and I am getting started now so I don't keep this weight on like with my last baby.

Find your TDEE and increase your caloric intake the recommended amount over that while breastfeeding. Do not try to cut calories. Just use MFP to track.

I used an online calculator to find out how many calories i needed as a bf mom. My girl is 8 weeks. :) feel free to add me as a friend.
They say you should not limit calories for the first 2 months while your milk supply is getting established.

You can add breastfeeding to your calories, search for it in the food diary

Hi there my son is 9 months now and I've been at this while breastfeeding since he was two months old. For now simply track your intake to get you used to doing it. Stick with your maintenance calories. You want to wait until your baby is at least two months old so that your milk supply is established before cutting calories. Once baby is two months you can start cutting but don't cut a lot at once do maybe 100-150 and see how it affects your supply. Most women will need 1800-2000 calories minimum. I'm down 40lbs now with 20 or 30 left to go. Good luck!
