On Friday morning I weighed 87.2kg. I let my hair down a bit at the weekend and had some beers Saturday and a take away last night. Now although I was over my allowance of 1500 kcals I wasn't over maintenance which is around 2000, I weighed myself this morning. 88.9kg. I am hoping its water fluctuation if not it'll probably take me the best part of 2 weeks to get back to 87.2kg. Although I indulged I also did 30-45 mins workouts this past 3 days.

It sounds like water to me. I'd double-check your logs for accuracy just in case (by comparing against the USDA database, I will link below) but I have been known to go 10 lbs back and forth in water weight over a month or so due to increased or decreased activity, menstrual cycle (I realize this particular one doesn't apply to you, I mention it for others' sake's), and sodium intake. That last one is the biggest variable for me. Check how your sodium intake has been compared to other weeks. If it seems a little high, that could do it. Increasing your exercise will to, as the body retains water to aide in muscle regeneration.

Yeah I would definitely check your sodium intake. Bear in mind that most if not all takeaway foods are high in sodium. Chinese and Indian especially.
I also find that when I have a drinking session I retain a lot of fluid, but this quickly falls back to normal over the course of a few days. As an example I went to an all day gig a few weekends ago and I weighed nearly 2kgs heavier on the Monday morning. When I weighed myself on Wednesday I was back on track.

Its also worth noting that in order for you to have gained nearly 2kgs in fat you would have to over eat your maintenance by more than 14,000 calories!!
