Leg Day Advice Needed

She hit it hard last night on leg day and isn't sore today - not one bit.
She doesn't want to add weight because her ankles and knees are tore up from many years of ballet.
Any advice? She wants to feel the burn!

Asking for a friend (really).

You don't have to be sore the next day in order to have had a good workout. Soreness is often just due to using muscles you haven't used in a while. I rarely get sore after workouts anymore.1

Let her do what she wants to do.

I'm not usually sore for a day or two and not always. I wouldn't associate sore with benefit.0

If she was in ballet for years, her legs are going to be pretty strong and well used anyway. She's not going to "feel the burn" unless she pushes past what her legs can already handle. Ballerinas have some of the most powerful legs.0

Exactly. My legs don't get sore until two days later (but not all the time). However, my arms will be sore right away if I really push hard. Either way, it's not an absolute indication of effort or benefit.1
