MFP.... High School all over again?

Anyone notice that we all form cliques on MFP? Every time I go to a friends profile.. we all share the same friends. On the message boards, if someone picks on one of our MFP friends... the rest of the clique comes running in to back them up. Pointless post... but just something I've noticed on here. Feels like high school LOL

    Ever hear that song "High school never ends"? Totally true... seems like there is always cliques and always gossiping (no matter how old the people are... I see it all the time at work). So funny!

    Don't feel bad. I'm an outcast too. Still the weirdo kid that watches X-Files and plays with a hula hoop. Cept these days it has fire on it. :):):)

    I'm a joiner. By that I mean I love joining groups - Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc, Toastmasters, US Navy, and a few other groups. Hell I was born in a group of two (Hey Twin!). Maybe it's highschool...maybe it's the birds of a feather deal...don't know.

    Pointless response to my MFP friend's pointless post and I hope the rest of my friends post. :)

    Off topic - is anyone else getting the Polar FT HRM ad at Macy's on their page or is it just me?

    I haven't noticed... but it's like that at my work... guess high school never is done... sad because I hated high school!!!

    I actually hated high school so much that i quit it. :S I went back as an adult to finish school though. yay me for finishing things.

    Yeah, outcast here too, and I have noticed the same thing... Especially with the "pretty" people, look at their freinds lists and everyone pretty much looks the same with maybe a handful of exceptions... Us ugly people don't really have a clique.
    I do have lots of people on my friends list, but most of them don't say much to me, only a few really do, and they never back me up on anything, actually they are more prone to arguing with me LOL

    I haven't noticed but, then again, I don't have any friends. :)

    I liked high school anyway. From stories I've heard about other high schools I went to an incredibly un-cliqued school.

    I think cliques exist all throughout life, but typically begin around high school, and are simply due to people growing into who they are as individuals...thus the differences in people become accentuated...and we seek similar people.

    I don't think there is anything wrong with cliques...

    I tend not to pay much attention to cliques etc on message boards - I have enough exhausting soul sucking drama in my real time every day life, I don't need it here -lol-

    I have to also comment however as well, that your progression pic - AWESOME stuff :) way to go!

    jtsmou maybe you've added the wrong "friends" on here if none of them try to support you. I know that I'm busy at home with 3 kids and also work 3 twelve hour shifts each weekend. So I don't get on here everyday and sometimes when I do it's just to briefly put in my food/exercise and I don't have time to catch up with all my friends. But when I have more time (like today) I do try to catch up with them. There's no reason to feel alone on here... MFP is meant for support :) And I wouldn't put all that much into "looks"... because it is true what they say. Looks fade... then what do you have left?
