This may be a dumb ? But what other ways can u get all your potassium in besides a banana??!

    Fish is surprisingly high in potassium, dried apricots, avocados, dried beans - pinto, kidney, etc... that should give you a banana break.

    I get some of my potassium from a bottle of V8 but the sodium in it is overkill. When I am at work and I get midday sleepies, I'll have a V8 to wake me up lol

    I take tablets and drink Vitamin water zero too. What are you needing it for?

    Check out my diary for ideas, I try to get in as much potassium as possible every day, at least to match my sodium intake.

    My favorite sources are:
    -Kale (a type of lettuce)
    -Cherry tomatoes
    -TVP (textured vegetable protein)
    -Oranges
    -Yogurt
    -Tomato soup

    In addition to the foods already listed, dairy products and potatoes also have a great deal of potassium.

    You're probably getting a lot more potassium than you think based on your diary. As the government doesn't require food manufacturers to report potassium content on their labels, they usually don't. If it's not on the label, it doesn't get entered into the MFP database in most cases.

    You can get large amounts of Potassium in no-salt (salt substitute). My husband adds this to his breakfast everyday.

    Many foods contain potassium. All meats (red meat and chicken) and fish such as salmon, cod, flounder, and sardines are good sources of potassium. Soy products and veggie burgers are also good sources of potassium.

    Vegetables including broccoli, peas, lima beans, tomatoes, potatoes (especially their skins), sweet potatoes, and winter squashes are all good sources of potassium.

    Fruits that contain significant sources of potassium include citrus fruits, cantaloupe, bananas, kiwi, prunes, and apricots. Dried apricots contain more potassium than fresh apricots.

    Milk and yogurt, as well as nuts, are also excellent sources of potassium.
