Help, I have been in a challenge at work for the last 10 weeks and I have only lost a total of 7 lbs.
What am I doing wrong, I log my food in I try and exercise at least 30 mins everyday and the lbs are not coming off, I have lost inches but it is very frustrating for sure. Any advice?

Do you know your TDEE? Are you weighing all your food intake or just guessing? Losing inches is a good thing!0

They are coming off, they're just moving slower than you'd like. So take a look at what you're eating, it may be too much to lose at the rate you'd like. Also make sure your logging is accurate, using accurate entries and weighing all your foods. You could be inadvertently eating more than you think, or you're tracking accurately and you're just not burning what you think. That can be for many reasons, you could be over estimating your exercise calories or your BMR is lower than MFP assumes.
It's all estimates though, so play around a bit. Try exercising more or eating less- pick one for a few weeks and evaluate your result. From there you can make more educated guesses about where the error is an adjust your plan accordingly.0 -
There are mistakes that people commonly make that cause them to not lose weight that we might be able to spot if you change your Diary Sharing settings to Public: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/diary_settings0

The only thing wrong is your expectations. You have lost 7 pounds in 10 weeks. Unless you are very overweight/obese, or are starving yourself (NOT recommended) you are on a terrific path of healthy weight loss. As long as you are measuring/weighing your food so your calorie count is accurate - I say good for you, you are rocking this!9

7 lbs in 10 weeks is great, but if you want to loose faster get a food scale and make sure your logging accurate.1

2 lbs in 2 weeks is 1 lb/wk, which is what you should be expecting unless you're very obese (in which case, the 2 lb/wk goal is appropriate), or within 15 lbs of your goal weight (where .5 lb/wk is appropriate). If you don't fall into the extremely obese category, then you need to readjust your expectations. The Biggest Loser loss rates are not typical results, so 5 lbs/wk is not realistic.
You're not doing anything wrong, except putting the word "only" before your 7 lb loss. 7 lbs in 10 weeks is a great achievement! You should be excited about that!
ETA: I would suggest taking your measurements regularly. You might have lost inches rather than pounds. If your clothes are fitting better, that's a clue, too.
Also, try having more than one goal so your focus isn't just on the scale. Maybe this is a good time to work on some fitness goals, too.

You are losing, well done!0

I'm currently on a 1200 calorie diet, and recently talked to my doctor because I was losing weight so slow. She said typically you want to lose 1-2lbs each week. So, no, you aren't doing it wrong. Also, buy a food scale if you don't have one!! Keep up the great work!0

You're losing just fine.0

Unrealistic expectations. Other than that sounds like you're doing fantastic.2

Oh, ONLY 7lbs in 10 weeks. What a disaster. *rolls eyes*2

If you're in a challenge, you may be comparing yourself to others who have more to lose. If they were eating poorly as well, they may have lost lots of water weight that first week and that's discouraging to you.
That's all you're doing wrong, comparing your loss to others. In 6 months, those others will look at you and say, "Boy, you didn't lose fast but you lost good!"0 -
You're doing good. Weight loss is slow and boring and hungry usually.
I'm 5'11" at 202 lbs and trying to keep it just above the 1200 calorie "punishment zone" and I'm losing maybe two a week.
(My fitbit is broken and my new Garmin hasn't come in so I'm being ultra sedentary.)
(Punishment zone is when a guy gets under 1200 or a gal gets under 1000 and so MFP says "I'm not analyzing that." So I go eat an egg or something.)
But, to repeat myself, you're doing good. Boring, aint it?0 -
You're only doing something wrong if you are trying to lose a crazy amount of weight in a short amount of time. 2 pounds in 2 weeks is excellent and so is 7 pounds in 10 weeks. Your problem is that you have unrepalistic expectations. You are doing great.0

Some people loose at a slower rate then others. You are doing great. Be sure to drink lots of water daily. I watch my carbs not my necessarlly my calories0
