Hi, feeling really disheartened, Iv lost half a stone in 8 days and this morning Iv woke to find Iv put 2lb on?!? How is this possible?!? Iv kept my exercise the same, been calorie counting, watching what Iv eaten. Feeling really disheartened and that I'm going to be fat forever.

Daily weights are all but meaningless. Water can fluctuate several lbs a day. Stop worring about day to day changes and follow month to month changes.

You've still lost 5lbs in 8 days. How is this in any way disheartening.

I wouldn't say daily weigh ins are meaningless. However, they should be viewed over a longer period. I.E take daily weigh ins but only consider groups of daily results to *kitten* the overall trend of your weight loss.

Weight fluctuates on a daily basis anywhere from 1-5 lbs. Completely normal. :)

Weight fluctuates naturally for lots of reasons, don't be disheartened, keep on keeping on

    Awesome. :)

Remember, that weight 'gain' is most likely fluid retention, the weight of the food and drinks we consume or waste that hasn't been eliminated yet. Also, if you're close to the time of the month or have consumed foods high in sodium, or started a new exercise regime, that'll cause a bit of fluid retention.

I'm about to start weighing daily, because weekly the fluctuations look like gains and I think I will see my losses if I check daily. So maybe try it, combined with a trend app to help you see the overall picture.

I woke up to a 7lb gain over the week, definitely not fat. There's no freaking way haha.

I was also told today muscle might take part in it too? Because I am exercising hardcore now, hope it is muscle and not fat haha

Whoever told you that was incorrect. It takes a VERY long time for one to gain a lb of muscle, especially a female. Women can hope to gain 2 lbs of muscle in a month under ideal conditions when they are eating in a calorie surplus. You certainly are not gaining lbs of muscle in a week eating in a calorie deficit. It's totally related to water fluctuation, not muscle building.
