Working out and making the best food choices when sick

I have a cold since 3 days (runny nose, light head, a bit of fever, cough) coincidently at that time of the month (PMSe), and I’ve been having an extreme high apetite.
It’s not that common for me to have such a huge need to eat when I have PMS (usually one treat solves it) so I think it’s the fact that I have a cold and feel so poorly that is messing up with my system.
I’ve been snacking on dry cereal and berries for 3 days now (plus other regular meals), and today I’ve been trying really hard to be good. Also, because I feel so poorly, I missed 2 workouts and it’s making me feel sluggish. I’m coming back to the gym today but I’m still not 100% well, and I’m a bit afraid of doing squats and deadlifts
Is this normal? How do you deal with these setbacks and how do you recover from them?
p.s. at least I didn’t ate crap (silver lining).

I would NOT be working out if you are still feeling light headed and running a fever. Stay home, rest, hydrate and allow your body to get well.3

why on earth would you do that to yourself? If you're sick, especially when on your period, you need to be resting and focusing on getting better with an emphasis on healthy foods and plenty of liquids. not calorie counting and trying to work out.

If you're sick, stay home. Don't get others in the gym sick.4

My personal rules are no working out if I have a fever, feel weak or lightheaded, or a cough. If it's the very tail end of the illness and I just have an occasional cough, I'll go back at it but a little easy.
Working out when you're still that sick is dangerous.0 -
Oh hey, I’m better today, definitely no fever and overall better, that’s why I’m going to train. I just wanted to know if it’s normal to feel that hungry when sick0

I've had a cold for the better part of a week now: stuffy nose, cough, pink eye . . .yeah, I'm a total hot mess. I have NOT been to the gym nor have I done any sort of workout. Not only do I not want to infect everyone at the gym with my germs (seriously, that's a HUGE pet peeve of mine: people who go to the gym and work out when clearly they're sick. I wonder if they do it just to spread their germs?) but my body is pretty much telling me to just relax and get well.0

Yes, it's not uncommon to feel hungry when sick with a cold. As my nurse-friend always said, "It's normal for you." Some people do, others lose their appetite.0
