If I wear my polar fitness watch at work (12 hours) can I count those calories for my daily exercise or do I only count my actual workouts into my log? In this weird way I feel like I'm cheating when I do count steps. I have logged steps twice now when I am just to tied to workout out.

I would say it depends on what you have your activity level set to. if you set it to lightly active or higher then that takes into consideration how active you are at your job so you'd end up logging too much activity. however if you're set to sedentary then you could probably wear it all day and log it.

HUMMM I have to figure out if it does that, but I have 2 jobs and the activity ranges for both I think I will try it for a few days at work to see the trends mainly for 12 hours or more days.

In theory it shouldn't matter IF you have "negative adjustments" allowed in your MFP profile. Please somebody correct me if I'm wrong on this.

When you set your MFP up, it asks you some questions like how much weight you want to lose and how quickly, and also how active you are. Based on that last one, it's going to assume you walk a certain amount already; it'll expect more of you if you say "highly active" than "lightly active" obviously. And it'll dole out calories based on what you tell it. Now, if you wear your fitness watch all the time and it tells MFP how much you're actually walking, MFP will do some math and make sure it's guesses about you were right. If it gave you too much credit, it will take calories away. (That's what "negative adjustments" are, if you told it you're very active but you don't move all day, it will take food off your plate.)

TL;DR = wearing the watch and syncing the steps isn't "double counting," it's "verifying."

I really need to figure this watch out or buy a more complex one. some days I'm moving all day and working out is not happening so if I had a watch that could tell the difference I would feel better with knowing I did a lot VS just saying forget it or feeling like I'm cheating!!
