Hi friends ,
As you know , I am new here . 2.4kg down so far (10 days!). I am measuring everything and just eating at home.
I don't care how long does it take to reach my goal. But I've noticed that I am not sleeping properly.
I read that it may be as a consequence of eating less carbs that I used to.
Any suggestions ? I'm not into carbs at night. But I used to eat two huge bars of chocolate with a pack of Doritos as dinner before . Now I am having salad, veggies and beef.
Many thanks ,

Perhaps going for a walk in the evening before bed will help? It will take your body a while to adjust to the new normal.

Or maybe a low calorie snack before bed. I workout at night so by the time I get a shower and get a snack, it's usually 10. I usually have some shredded chicken (for the protein), a protein shake, 15-30g of raisins, or about 20g of chips and a square of dark chocolate. It all depends on my mood and how my macros are at the end of the day.0

I have a couple of thoughts. 2.4 k in 10 days means that you are restricting quite a bit. You may be having a bit of an electrolyte imbalance going on, so you could look into that. Your body could also be stressed by the calorie deficit, and perhaps you have too much of a deficit. I personally have found that an evening snack (I like yogurt) helps.0

Thanks , guys . It's too much for 10days, I agree. But I suspect that I wasn't actually with 88, but because of water retention the scale marked 88. I've noted this down as it is the same scale I use.
I am eating plenty of stuff, being not hungry whatsoever.
Or it is the case that my body was so intoxicated with chocolate and chips.
I will try to eat an yogurt , and a short walk and see how it goes.

If it makes you feel any better, I had the same thing when I started. I am following a low sugar/no added sugar approach, and the first week or so of no sugar, maaaaan it was bad! I was waking up every couple of hours, couldn't fall asleep, brain was racing with a million thoughts a minute, I felt sluggish, so so tired, irritable, grumpy, and had headaches so bad I honestly thought about throwing in the towel. Fast forward a month and I sleep better than I have ever done in my life....honestly. The other day I slept 12 solid hours, I fall asleep within around 10 mins which is something that has never happened to me. Average time to fall asleep before was around 1 hour. I know this due to my Fitbit and sleep cycle app that I have.
Give it a few weeks....try not to eat a heavy meal close to bed time, and try to relax in the time before bed....no phone, tv or bright screens. Also found that helps. Good luck.1 -
Initial dieting always results in a quick loss due to water weight reduction. Less food to be processed means less water needed to process it. So, do not worry much on how much you've initially lost.
Sleeping problems seem to be you may not actually be tired. Given your choice of dinner food previously, you probably relied on the "sugar crash" to cause you to fall asleep, rather than normal tiredness.
My suggestion would be to go to bed at your normal time, and try reading a book for 30 minutes beforehand. No electronics (the light emitted actually can cause sleep problems). If that doesn't work, you might want to try exercising a little before bed to drain extra energy.1 -
Such lovely feedback! Thanks you all. I will give it a go to light meals plus reading and short walk to relax ! I'll let you know about the outcomes0

i eat a plain greek yogurt or half a quest bar right before bed, and it helps a lot.
good luck, and let us know how it goes for you.1
