Well, have you done any training for this yet?
How is your cardio?
I mean you can definitely do it but I would just get some walking in cause that's how your going to finish this race.
Walk and run for short times.
You need to go out and walk/run for 3 miles at least 3 times before your race. Take the day off before the race and go out and do the same.
Prob run for 15-30 secs and walk for a min or longer.
Don't go for any PRs. Just go out and have fun. I know lots of people that just walk 5Ks.
Next time put in some work so you can run the 5k0 -
I started training really hard for it I was running up to a half mile... I really really want to run the whole thing0

Since you haven't trained, don't be disappointed when you find that you can't run the whole thing. Use next week to gauge how much you can run but expect to walk the majority of the run. Have fun. Even walking a 5K is a fun experience.
Then, get the C25K app and start training. Sign up for another 5K in about 10-12 weeks time. If you stick to your training program, you should be able to run that 5K in its entirety, if you pace yourself carefully.
Keep running; just don't be fooled about next week's run. You haven't trained to run it, so it won't happen.1 -
I was a couch potato til I was 30, but have done various types of running" for 33 years and have done 6 marathons. The truth is, I'm more of a wogger (jog/walk) now--even when I do 5Ks now. It is technically possible that you could run the entire 5K, but if you do, the chances are great that you would ultimately injure yourself without the properly cumulative training. I agree with chaney3000 and PaytraB--plan on walking most of it, get out there with your best party attitude and have a great time. That will really enhance your chances that you'll love it and want to do it again. It also increases the odds that you'll meet some great people to sign up with in the future.
A lot of running & fitness stores now have "couch to 5K" programs (usually with different titles), which are a lot of fun, provide a solid running (and/or run/walk) plan and 2X/week group workouts/runs that give great support. If you're serious about getting into this, call around and sign up for one. It makes a HUGE difference to do it with a group and is a lot more fun.
Good luck!0
