I started counting calories to have a little control in my life but now, restricting is controlling me. I've dropped quite a few pounds and am now at 84 pounds at a height of 5'5" which means a bmi of about 13.9. I can't seem to stop either and it's scary. I know that this disorder is going to kill me, it's really the only outcome but I wish it wouldn't be like that. And I know this is psychological so how can I stop thinking that I can't have more than 500 cals a day? How can I stop counting obsessively?

Oh, I'm so sorry to read this. I really don't even know where to start except that you need to get some good professional help really soon. Please go see someone right away - maybe start with your doctor if you have a good one, and ask for a referral to a someone who specialised in eating disorders.
    Take care (hug).

See a doctor NOW. 84 lbs at 5'5" is seriously underweight (my 12 year old weighs more, at 5'0"!) You are damaging your heart and other organs by being so far underweight, and by continuing to restrict your diet.

I'm sorry this is what's going on. Like the other poster said, professional help is the only way to go. If money is an issue, just google low fee counseling in your area and there will be options for you. Good luck and know that you are in control and know that you can do the right thing by your body. Please stay safe and healthy.

Please, seriously - get help. I have a cousin who was obsessed and she is probably a couple inches taller but about the same weight. She has gotten so bad that she literally gets sick from drinking coffee or eating. I am fully prepared, and my parents have told me to be prepared, for her impending death. She has been starving herself for a very long time.

Seek help while your body is at least not rejecting food, unlike my cousin's.

Please listen to everyone here and get some help. Ask a friend, parent, coworker, brother, sister, anyone, to help you.
