So mfp gives me 1590 to Lose half a pound per week . My maintenance is 1840 , if I eat at 1590 6 out of 7 days a week and then on the seventh day I eat 2,500 , will I still lose weight ? And if not , at what calories over my maintenance would I still be able to lose weight for the week ?

That high day will put you at about maintenance. 1840x7=12,880 calories per week to maintain. 1590x6=9,540+2,500=12,040.

If you want a 2500 calorie day you need to do the math and shave off some calories from the other days.

Why not just eat at maintenance for your 7th day.

If my math and your numbers are right, factoring in your 2,500 calorie day, you'd still have a 120 calorie per day deficit, which equates to a 0.24 pound loss per week. This assumes that your logging (including burn estimates, if you're eating back exercise calories) is 100% accurate.

Sorry but eating 2500 on that one day will put you over your weekly calories so you wouldn't lose but gain a little....

If you ate 2000 calories on your day 'off' you'd basically maintain your weight.

You need to shave off the calories from during the week, say 100 per day to see a slight loss a week and also not eat as much as 2500 on your off day, aim for say 2200. That would make all the difference and you'll lose

Also if you move more, you could create more of a deficit that way
