MFP calorie differance

I have noticed that on more then one entry in the data base the same food has different calorie counts. Any idea as to how to tell the correct one? I kinda feel like this is a crap shoot. MFP may not be accurate as I need it to be.

    I check entries against the USDA food database: https://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/foods. When searching, I always use "USDA" in my search to find those entries, because they tend to be the most accurate (I still double-check them though).

    MFP is not 100% accurate because anyone can enter items into the database, I had to update one the other day because I scanned the barcode and came up with "Brewers" instead of "Breyers", and some of the macro's were off. The ones that are checked as verified are your best shot, otherwise as @Ruatine aid check the USDA database.

    Yup, I asked this question too. Always refer to the USDA info. However, I found an excellent post in this discussion. It talks about how to log correctly. I didn't know I could check the full nutrition info before adding to my diary, nor did I know that members can "confirm" that the info is accurate. AND you can edit the info if the it does not agree with your package or the USDA.
