In 2010 I weighed in at my heaviest of 205lbs. I decided then that I needed a change. In 2014 I weighed in at 150lbs in the best shape of my life and getting ready to run my first ever Marathon (MCM). Then in Dec. 2014 my momma died (lung cancer). Since then I have gained 35 lbs back. Im having such a hard time getting re motivated. Im tired all the time and cant get my eating back under control. Dealing with death.. weight gain or loss is normal right? How do you get out of this funk....

My weight gain came while I was my Mother's caretaker (also lung cancer). Turns out the stress I was under probably was the cause of my hypothyroidism. After she passed, and I was on the proper dosage of medication, I found my workouts to be very therapeutic.

windee... The Dr did just tell me that my stress levels could be the cause. He started me on some anti anxiety medicine to help me deal with my stress levels better.

Glad to hear that. It couldn't hurt to have your thyroid levels checked (simple blood test). So many people have thyroid issues and have no idea.
As for motivation, what's that saying? It takes 2 weeks to make a habit? Do you have someone to work out with? That's great motivation!

My mothers death of cancer in 2008 began my fall off the wagon.
I've been fortunate that somehow my brain has equated keeping track of my calories to a video game. I'm trying to match numbers, the closer I get the closer I get to beating the game. Weight loss is a power up.
    I'm weird.

I can relate completely. It took me 6 months to lose 20 lbs and I gained 15 of those lbs back within two months of my dad's sudden passing. It's just really hard to care about calorie counting or how you look when you're grieving such a huge loss. It's been about 8 months since he passed and I still get those days where I don't care about anything except seeking comfort in pizza or cookies or whatever.

Ani... Im totally on that level with you. Like Mother's Day is hard.. and healthy food or counting calories was the least of my worries.
