Rewards of weight loss

I recently created rewards on scratch off notes. Each pound I lose, I grab a scratch ticket to reveal my prize. I created twenty for the twenty pounds I want to lose.

Any one else have a rewards program? I have a hard time staying motivated.

What kind of prizes are you giving yourself?

I use a clear glass jar. I throw $1 in for every pound I lose. I throw $1 for every workout. If I successfully talk myself out of buying a food or beverage item that isn’t on my plan, such as pizza, I put the money I would have spent on that item into the jar too. It’s a great visual reminder of my hard work, and that is the money I use to reward myself. Sometimes it’s clothes in my new size. Sometimes it’s a spa treatment. Sometimes it’s an Itunes card to update my workout playlist. Whatever is leftover when I reach goal weight will go towards my new, permanent wardrobe.

I've broken down my weight loss to my preliminary goal weight and am throwing into savings a certain dollar amount. It's for a trip to Maui. That's my big motivator. Maui is like heroin to me ;) I'm spending less on food and clothes right now (thrift store and gym clothes only) so I can divert that. Anyway, at goal I should have enough money for MY trip. Whether hubby or anyone else can come with will depend on general finances. I have NO problem going alone!!!!

Really awesome ideas. I wrote little prizes on a note, folded it, and put it in a jar. I'll pick one for each pound lost so it's a surprise. Some examples: new lipgloss, new book, flowers, new sandals, etc. For milestones: 5, 10, 15, 20 - I am doing a massage, facial, and for my goal of 20, my husband will plan a date night.

Anything to take these twenty pounds off!
