too sweaty?

when I'm exercising I get really red and sweaty, looking round the room it seems I'm the only one. I'm working hard, but so are other I assume so wondered why they still look fresh and I'm a wreak.

Is it healthy to sweat so much? is there ever a case of too much? or do I just need to get fitter?

I don't know if it is normal but I turn reallllly red too. I usually look like someone smacked me repeatedly or a really bad sunburn... LOL So you are not alone at least =)

As long as you feel okay and not weak and lightheaded then you're just one of those people who sweat a lot. I do too. Several years ago I would do 60 - 90 min. cardio sessions on either treadmill or the elliptical (not recommended; way too much time) and I was always a sweaty, red-faced mess.

And never compare yourselves with others. You do you and keep in mind that everyone is different. There was a lady at that gym I used to go to who seemed to need to point out how red my face was after a workout. Yeah, no kidding. Brilliant observation. I just got done working out! If I look the same as when I came in the door then it would have been a waste of time.

Glad it's not just me then. Wasn't sure if it was a sign that I was heading for heart attack or if I was just really effective at burning fat  I certainly wouldn't get away with a face full of makeup

I turn into a sweaty, very red faced mess 5-10 minutes into a workout. I've always been like this, it doesn't matter how fit I am at that time, it's just what my body likes to do. I pole dance, so the sweaty part means I slide right off if I don't keep myself wiped off, but other than that it's never been a big deal for me. If you're that worried, ask your healthcare provider.

The redness is just blood pressure going up, blood being pumped closer to your skin to assist in cooling and I think sweating heavily is just your body working hard to assist in the cool down process. I sweat buckets during my cardio sessions. It's not unusual for me to leave a puddle or two around the machine I'm on after about 40 minutes of work. I usually leave soaked and have to wear layers on the drive home so I don't soak my car seats. Nothing unusual about your condition. It just means that you're putting in work to me.

Everyone has different sweat rates, I just like to think I have a very efficient cooling system...... the guy two bikes over at my spin class actually puts a towel under his bike.

Personally I sweat like a Royal Marine in a spelling test pretty easily.

I can run a sub 2hr half marathon but I'll warm up enough walking smartly to the office to have a damp shirt.

    Nothing to worry about

I tend to sweat a lot. On a hot, humid day, i pour sweat without working out. When i play judo, i can wring my undershirt out.

I'm about to finish the couch-2-5k program, and am surprised that while i'm running further, and a bit faster, i'm sweating less then when i started. Not sure if improvements to my cardio are helping me manage heat better without as much sweat, or i'm wrong about how sweaty i get....

You are certainly not alone, as many others have said. I tend to be pretty red faced and sweaty withing 10-15 min. I like to wear my sweaty t-shirts like a badge of honor. I feel like I didn't work hard enough if you can't see the nasty proof! Enjoy it!

Give me 10 mins on the elliptical and I start sweating. By the time I'm done I'm red faced and my shirt is soaked around the neck where my hair lays on my shoulders. Yesterday a woman I see in the gym every day casually working out on a machine, stopped me to ask about my ipod. We talked for a bit and I really wanted to get my workout started, thinking she did too. Low and behold, she was done and looked just as good as I've seen her come in there. I don't dare show my face in public after exercise, it's not pretty! LOL

Today I was lifting weights and was bent over at one point with the sweat dripping from my nose. I had to make sure I wasn't leaving a trail and was wiping up after myself. Fun times B)

After doing cardio - my face resembles a tomato it's so red. The new gym I joined has a bottle of sanitizer and rag they leave in the cardio area for people to wipe up their drippings after they are through. If I go in public directly after leaving the gym, some people will even stop me to ask if I am OK. Since the redness tends to fade very quickly after I cool off so I don't worry about. I've been like that all my life.

Think of it as a badge of accomplishment.

I sweat a lot too. I wear tanks and shorts to stay as cool as possible, but without fail I'm sweating about 8 minutes into my run. My tank and sports bra are soaked by the time I'm done. It's pretty gross and I always shower before leaving the gym. I really hate feeling gross and sweaty!

In the summer the heat makes it so much worse! I prefer running on the treadmill in the air conditioning!

It is normal. I sweat from head to toe and I do turn red. Most likely your actually working out and they are just standing there looking pretty. "If your mascara didn't run then you didn't work hard enough". That's what they say. Whoever is they. Lmao!

I run a good amount, around 20-25 miles a week. All it takes is for me to think about going for a run and I start to sweat...it has nothing to do with my firness level.

Not for everyone though. I have a friend who works out very, very hard and she is a beast but she never sweats in class. It's not an indicator she isn't working hard enough

I'm sure I sweat more haha. 24/7. Streams in the gym (i clean it). It's perfectly fine to sweat a lot. Drink enough water! Always 1 gal min / day for me. I live in Vegas aka death heat desert.

Walk into the gym. Look at all of the people sitting on the machines blankly staring at their phones texting, facebooking, snapchatting & twitting. Then go beast it up and sweat like crazy. Who's better off at the end of the workout?

It depends on my workout. Arm day, no problem. I don't sweat much. But leg day is another story. I'm a sweaty mess. I also sweat a lot when doing cardio, so you aren't alone! I don't think anyone really notices or cares (and if they do then that's their problem :D )

You're definitely not alone! My face gets suuuuuper red and it doesn't take much to get me to sweat. I used to be really embarrassed about it until I one day thought, "f**k it, it's fairly obvious why I'm sweaty so who cares?"

You should see me nowadays. I live in Florida and our humidity during the summer is RIDICULOUSLY high... mid-summer feels like walking through the fog after a shower. In other words... your sweat won't evaporate. So you just sweat and sweat and sweat...

I get super red; it's my complexion as much as anything, and I notice I sweat a lot more when I'm doing new stuff...I'm told it's because of the neurological challenge.
Sweating is good for you, very detoxifying.
Just be sure to replace your electrolytes.

I used to leave puddles all over the dojo. After 7 years of classes I have to work pretty hard to break a sweat. It gets better.

I also noticed for the first couple f months that my sweat burned my eyes really bad when it got in them. After a while that stopped as well. Iv'e actually learned to enjoy the feeling of getting up a good free sweat when working out. It does help me to keep cooler.
